Good afternoon everyone,
I hope that you all had a lovely summer break - and enjoyed a well earned rest from home learning. It was so lovely to see all the children back in school again, and meeting up with all their friends and classmates.
I was very impressed with how smart the children were looking in their uniforms, and thank you so much for ensuring they came equipped with their own pencil cases. They are settling back down into the school routine very well, and coping with all the little changes that have had to be put in place to ensure their safety and well-being.
This week in primary 5 has very much been about settling back into the school routine after such a long time away, with a focus on us getting to know each other and on health and well-being. We have done a little maths and literacy to get our brains working once again, and the children have been very positive and enthusiastic about the activities set. Yesterday we were very excited to start our new class novel, 'Journey to the River Sea', a novel that links well to our new Science and Social Studies topic of The Rainforest.  All in all it has been a very good start to the new session.
For your information, our gym days this term will be on a Monday and a Wednesday. We will be outside whenever possible, so please ensure your child has both an indoor kit and an outdoor kit on both of these days.
Can I please remind you all to prebook your child's lunches using the iPay system. Even if they are bringing a packed lunch from home ,this needs to be recorded on the system. Thank you for your support with this.
Have  a lovely weekend, and I look forward to seeing all the children on Monday for our first whole week together.
