What a fun World Book day we have enjoyed today!
It was fantastic to see all the boys and girls excited about reading and sharing about their character/ favourite book with the class. The children also enjoyed a book tasting session focusing on genre and sorting books into fiction, non-fiction and a specific genre.

This week we have completed an end of topic multiplication test in Numeracy and began to look at division and the seven times tables. It is clear that the children have been working hard at home with their booklets to go over their multiplication tables and this is encouraged as we progress this term. Alongside the homework booklet, each pupil can also access Sumdog or Topmarks for some fantastic online games to consolidate this area of the curriculum.

The children have also impressed Miss Graham with their newspaper accounts this past week. As we watched clips and read facts on the launch of the Titanic, the class became budding reporters. Each child took notes on the videos, articles read and then used this information to write up a newspaper account on the launch day in Belfast. The children were super engaged with this and especially enjoyed watching the video from an eye witness who watched the launch first hand!

We look forward to learning more on this exciting project next week!

Happy weekend,
Miss Graham
