A big welcome back after that short break. Primary 4/5 quickly settled back into routine and have been enjoying learning more on the Titanic this week.
During our ICT time, the children were assigned a specific member of the Titanic to research facts on. The boys and girls really enjoyed finding out about their individual, their background, their family, whether they were a 1st, 2nd, 3rd class passenger or a crew member. Especially finding out if they survived the Titanic tragedy. Our log books with facts and illustrations are coming along well and we are really showing Miss Graham our creativity!

In Numeracy, we have focused on the numberline and grid method strategy for multiplying bigger numbers. Althought this was a little tricky to begin with, the children are slowly becoming more confident with multiplying bigger numbers. Further practise on our basic times tables will also help our progress.

In Literacy, we have started to read our new novel 'Kasper Prince of Cats'.
This is a captivating novel by Michael Morpurgo linked to our project and we are really enjoying following Kasper through his adventures so far! We have also tried really hard to extend our spelling knowledge this week and grow/shrink our spelling words.

As always we have been trying to update our learning journals online and I would encourage you to have a look on Seesaw to find out about the other exciting tasks/learning we have been up to this week. Please let Miss Graham or the office know if you are struggling to access this at home.

Happy Weekend,
Miss Graham
