This week our Primary 4 pupils have been working hard at completing their Primary 4 online assessments. I have been really impressed with the determination to do well and the effort demonstrated across the week.

Meanwhile the Primary 5 pupils have been exploring healthy diets. Comparing and contrasting the energy input required linked to a person’s age.

The whole class have also had the opportunity to develop their understanding of the different food groups and most children can now confidently sort food in the Eatwell Plate. This has helped us in our information writing as well as we have been making notes and creating information leaflets on a healthy diet.

The class have also been looking at the ‘chunking method’ linked to division and this has proved quite challenging for most pupils. Further consolidation of pupils’ times tables and division facts will help them in class as they attempt to grasp this new division method. We will be focusing again on division next week to build upon our current understanding.
