During Literacy this week our big writing was hijacked by a naughty christmas elf who changed our learning intention so that we would all have to write christmas stories about elves. Our spelling and reading tasks were also very christmas themed this week with all our spelling words having some connection to Christmas and some of our reading comprehension was based around Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper day. Even our Spanish took on the festive theme with the pupils creating some word pictures with different Spanish festive phrases. We also continued to look at the vocabulary related to buying food in a supermarket.

In mathematics we delved deeper into the division process and looked at some different vocabulary relating to division and tried explaining different division strategies to our peers using colourful posters. We also began using our understanding to create a number of maths board games that would encourage the players to practice their multiplication and division skills.

In art we were creating some Christmas cards which will hopefully find their way home for Christmas. Our Christmas party was also a huge success with lots of dancing and party games topped off with a helping of cake and ice cream.

A big congratulations to our pupils who are in the school choir and have been working exceptionally hard all week performing both at Dunfermline High School and Sky.

As a class we have decided that at this festive time of year we should take a break from homework for some christmas related activities. So instead of the pupils getting homework home this weekend if pupils could bring in a story of something festive they did with the time that they would have been doing homework to share in news time on Monday that would be fantastic.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
