Can't quite believe that we're at the end of the penultimate week of term 3 !! Don't forget we finish next Thursday and we still have our Bannockburn trip on the Wednesday.

In Literacy this week, for our Extended Writing, we continued with persuasive writing, posing the question, " Should We Keep the Monarchy ? " For grammar we looked at the correct use of commas and apostrophes and also uplevelled sentences to include clearer meaning and Standard English. We completed the next chapters of our group readers and will return to them after the break. And we practised using our group spelling words in fun activities to re enforce the letter patterns.

In Numeracy we finished off our 'Position, Movement and Angle' topic with station work where we practised our skills in symmetry, grid references, command direction and angles. We had lots of fun programming the Beebots and got to play Battleships amongst other activities. ( Mrs Heggie even won a game !! )

Our personal mini topics are coming along nicely and we are all really looking forward to sharing them next Thursday. In P.E. we are finishing off our second visit to 'Fitness', playing a variety of fun games and really getting those heart rates up !! For Art this week we continued the theme of line and pattern, and in particular zen tangling. We looked at African art and recreated a colourful picture of people walking with baskets on their head. In the main we used black, but 'went to town' with colour on the dresses and wraps worn, including an eye catching array of patterns and designs.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
