Weekly Update – Term 2 Week 3
This week in Numeracy we have moved onto written strategies for addition. Children were using the extended version and worked exceptionally well on this! We have now covered all our times tables and P7 have much faster recall. We will continue to practise all tables throughout the term.
We have read more of War Horse and P7 are doing a great job at comparing and contrasting the book to the movie after each chapter.
With Bonfire Night taking place this week, we had a variety of writing tasks linked to this, using onomatopoeia. Some lovely work produced.
Finally, as our China project comes to an end, we looked at China’s population this week and finished our Friday with making mooncakes! Thank you very much to Mrs McKenzie for helping make our first batch of mooncakes with peaches. They were delicious! I then made a second batch with the whole class in the afternoon, with the children choosing their individual filling. It was, shall we say, a little chaotic… But the children seemed to really enjoy it!
