P6b Weekly Update

Another busy week has come to an end. It started with a visit to Pitreavie Golf Club for the second of our two sessions there. This time the other half of the class got to enjoy putting and driving. Thank you to our helper, Mrs Smithson, and the gentlemen at the golf course for giving up some of their time to help the class have a taste of what golf is like. Letters were sent home earlier in the week for those pupils who might be interested in doing more golf over the summer. Photos and short video clips of both groups are now available on our class blog.

Our last cricket session was also this week and we have really enjoyed being out in the sunshine playing cricket. A team of eight (five boys and three girls) have been chosen from the class to represent P6b at a cricket festival next Wednesday at McKane Park. Letters have been issued today to those who are attending.

In Digital Literacy this week, we have been using Microsoft Sway as an alternative to PowerPoint to present information. I think everybody loved how effective it was.

In Numeracy, we spent some time looking at symmetrical patterns, repeating patterns, tessellation and co-ordinates.

For Literacy, we were looking at use of the words to, too and two and where they should be used.

At assembly last Friday, we were awarded class of the week for a second time in short succession and today we enjoyed our extended break out in the lovely sunshine. Well done P6b!

Have a lovely weekend!
