Week 2 Update
In Digital Literacy this week we had a look at inventions that might change our world and those which were a little bit odd too – the class loved the robots singing Queen songs from Japan! The class have also been using Microsoft SWAY; through their GLOW account, for their investigation into an area of digital history or digital future.
In Numeracy, we have been consolidating our skills in multiplication, layout, neatness, as well as extending our knowledge by working on multiplication by a two digit number. The class have also started a times-table challenge this week where they were given only a few seconds to answer a series of random multiplication questions. This challenge will run for the next several weeks and a focus on a particular times-table will be required each week. This focus will replace one of their pieces of homework and a weekly assessment will take place each Monday morning. More details will be issued next week once we have studied the results of this week’s assessment and agreed as a class which times-table to start with.
In P.E this week, we had the first of a short series of Badminton taster sessions. The children had great fun and were so enthusiastic. In our other P.E slot, we were working on our ball passing skills. One team were just a blur on the court and the poor defenders did not know where to go – a fantastic effort!
As I type this, we are currently sitting at about 70% of parents that have connected up to the new way to view their child’s learning by connecting to the ‘Seesaw Families and Parents App’. P6 Week 2 Update
