It is hard to believe it is the end of our first term already. Time does fly when you are busy, and we have been very busy in primary 5. This week , in numeracy, we have been learning to calculate the perimeters of shapes, and discussing why this might be a useful skill in real life. In literacy we have been having a real focus on our sentence building skills and looking at the how to uplevel and improve our sentence writing skills. In science we finished and tested our swings, and we have been learning about air resistance. Lots of fun was had running around the hall testing the air resistance of various items. In art we are finishing off our funfair ride acrriages in the style of Fred Fowles.
In the first week back we have a STEM science day, for which we need lots of junk, recyclable materials. If you have anything at home we would be grateful if your child could bring it to school during the first week.
It was lovely to meet so many of you at parents evenings. I hope you have an enjoyable and relaxing holiday.
