It is hard to believe that term one is now finished. We are all ready for a well deserved break and have worked hard all week to finish off jobs and complete tasks before the end of session. It was also wonderful to meet and chat with most of the parents this week and last Wednesday. As we agreed, the pupils in P4/5 have settled in and tried their best this term and made Miss Graham very proud.

It has been another busy week in class and the children once again had some wonderful writing ideas for the 'A Pirate's trip to the Funfair'. The pupils have really enjoyed this class novel and we look forward to joining the Captain and the other characters after the break as we continue this well loved novel. Please note that all group reading books have been finished or caught up during class time this week and there are only a few pupils needing to catch up with their group reading over the break. Please ensure these books are returned at the beginning of the next school session so that we can trade them in for another group reading novel.

The children have also enjoyed exploring 'Area'  and 'Volume' in Maths. We discussed the link with the world of work and talked about the different jobs that depend on the skill of finding the area. We have also had a go at creating some 3D models and we confidently calculated the volume of these models.

We also ended the week with creating some pirate portraits and enjoyed using different media in this art session.

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very relaxed and safe school holiday. I look forward to seeing everyone back refreshed in two weeks time!

Miss Graham
