Good afternoon,
I can hardly believe I am writing this on our last full week of this term and that next Thursday will be our last day of Term 3 and the start of the Easter holidays. It was lovely to meet with so many of you to chat about your child's progress so far this year at our recent parent contact sessions.
This week in Primary 4 we started on our fractions topic in numeracy. We have been making the link between fractions, division and our times tables, using concrete materials, arrays and bar models, and the children are working really well on this so far.
In literacy we have been learning to use commas in lists and practising our inferential comprehension skills. In writing this week we finished our block of formal letter writing by writing a letter to Mrs Howie trying to persuade her that Primary 4 deserve to be allowed a den building session in class on the last day of term, as we loved the World Book Day one so much. Fingers crossed our persuasiveness and our letter wriitng skills will persuade her to say yes.
In RME we were learning about the events of Holy Week with a focus on the themes of friendship and trust. The children all played a game of 'Split or Steal' to explore this theme in more depth.
Next week we will be finishing off the term with a range of fun Roman themed activities including Roman maths, Roman games and some Roman drills. Keep a look out on Seesaw for updates on wheteher or not we are allowed a den building day next Thursday - which is our last day of term.
I hope you have a lovely weekend
