Good afternoon everybody.
We have had a busy week completing our 3D shape topic in Maths. The children were very pleased with their 3D models made with the cocktail sticks. There was a nice selection of cubes, cuboids, square/triangle based pyramids and triangular prisms. We will be moving on to Length next week.
Our handwriting lesson this week looked at the formation of letter p at the beginning, middle and end of words. We are still working on spelling common words accurately in our written tasks.
The children have almost completed their individual country research and we will put it onto their display board next week.
In our Big Writing, we took a trip to Italy on a magic carpet and the children came up with very good ideas about places to visit and delicious food to eat.
The children have sketched the Leaning Tower of Pisa and although a little trickier than last weeks sketch of the Eiffel Tower, they have produced lovely results.
We finished the week with our Science question of  'Can a balloon move without you touching it?'. I will let the children share their results with you.
I can't believe that next week will be the last week of Term 1 and we have lots planned to finish the term with happy, smiley faces.
Have a lovely weekend.
Miss Shearer
