It has been another very busy week in Primary Three. Flat Stanley started another adventure. He has gone to Japan to meet his favourite Ninja film star. We have looked at Japanese writing and practised drawing the symbols. As a class, we have looked at a clip of a child in London and a child in Tokyo and compared similarities and differences.

We received a letter of help on Wednesday because Arthur, Stanley's brother, had made him into an origami aeroplane and launched him out of the window! He wanted help to find him. The children wrote adventure stories about where they thought Stanley had gone and what adventures he might have had. Thankfully, Jack spotted Stanley in our art display outside the dinner hall so he is now safely back in our class.

In Maths, the children have been introduced to measure and weight. They have had the opportunity to use a pan balance. They have compared objects to find out which are lighter or heavier. The children used non standard units today to find the mass of classroom objects.

Sports day was wet but the children still had a great time. They demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship on the day and tried very hard with all the activities.

Today the children met their new teacher. Some were very excited and some a little nervous. I am sure they will work just as hard with their new teacher as they did for us. We will be sharing lots of postive comments with the new teacher as the class have been a real pleasure to teach.
