Good afternoon everyone.

On Monday, the children completed their creative dance dress rehearsal. Mrs Greig was very pleased with the performance and said the children were definitely ready for the festival on Friday.

This week's Workshop for Literacy story was the Elves and the Shoemaker. The children worked on the skills of identifying true and false statements about the story. They then wrote a true and false facts of their own to demonstrate their understanding.

For writing this week, the children watched a short clip that explained what features a good persuasive poster should have. They learned it needed to have a clear font, be eye catching, only have one big picture and short snappy messages. The children then used this knowledge to design their own poster advertising the Fairyland Celebration on Tuesday. I was astounded at the quality of their work and the care they took over making them.

For art, I introduced the children to tertiary colours. They learned that these colours are made by mixing two secondary or a secondary and a primary colour together. The children then had to paint their own picture and were encouraged to mix the paints to create tertiary colours. They loved this activity.

Friday was the big day for the dance festival at Dunfermline High. All the children's hard work paid off and they put on a wonderful display. Mrs Greig and I are so proud of them all. They are a real credit to yourselves and Canmore Primary. The children can't wait to show you the dance on Tuesday.

Have a wonderful weekend. Kind regards, Mrs Thomson and Mrs Greig.
