Good Afternoon

We have had a wonderful first term in Primary 1. The children are following the class routines and expectations happily and are growing in confidence with their learning day by day.

Follwing on from our story "What the Ladybird Heard on Holiday," we started this week with a treasure hunt around the school playground. The children found this a most enjoyable context in which to begin learning about following and giving directions. Most of the class are able to use prepositions accurately but would benefit from extra support at home in using left and right correctly.

In Literacy, we continued to work on the skills of listening and concentration. We learned that if we were unsure of what to do, we should look at others for clues or ask a friend or teacher for help.

In Health and Welbeing, we learned that being active is a healthy way to be. We talked about ways to stay active during our October holidays and are all looking forward to participating in some of these active activities with our parents.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support this term and wish you all a lovely October break.
