Good Afternoon,

It has begun to feel quite festive in P1/2 this week with many highlights.

On Tuesday we were very surprised to receive a letter all the way from Santa’s workshop in the North Pole. In his letter, Santa told us that he had heard that we have been busy rehearsing his favourite Nativity, ‘Stable Story’ and wanted to know more about our hard work. So, he gifted us one of his magic post-boxes and we have all enjoyed writing letters to him.

Nativity rehearsals are well underway and each of us are working exceptionally hard, learning the dances, actions and words for our parts. We will be filming the final performance on the afternoon of Friday 11th December and can’t wait to share this special story with you.

Our class Christmas fun day will be on Friday 18th December. On this day children are invited to come to school wearing their party outfits for the whole of this Christmas fun day. However, as the windows have to remain open to allow for sufficient ventilation please ensure that all children bring with them a cardigan or jumper that they can put on if they become cold at any point during the day. The children will also still be playing outside at playtime and lunch time on this day, so please can I ask that they wear appropriate shoes for this.

We were also very excited to receive another letter from Katie Morag alongside a special gift of chalk. This week Katie asked us to help her find out about games and songs from the past. We all had great fun outdoors using our chalk to create and play ‘hopscotch’. In P.E Mrs Hay also taught us some traditional Scottish playground games including our favourite ‘Queenie, Queenie’.

We wish you all a fantastic weekend.
