It is hard to believe that it is the Easter break already! It feels like hardly any time ago that we were finishing last term and looking forward to Christmas. Yet, here we are at the end of term 3 already. The whole term has been a very productive term and despite most of it being done remotely, we have covered a lot of learning.

This week in class, we started to finish off our Space topic and look forward to our next history-based topic of Mary, Queen of Scots, which we will start early in term 4.

In numeracy, we have continued to look at simple and equivalent fractions, Towards the end of this week we looked at how we can use this knowledge to link fractions to percentages. We will continue working on this next term.

In literacy, we had a good chuckle in class when we looked at creating a set of instructions. This was not as easy as the class thought it would be and I was deliberately awkward when they were trying to write instructions for me to move to a chair and sit down. I think they now realise the need to be accurate and clear in their use of language.

As part of our focus on health and wellbeing over the last two weeks, I have given the class time each day to reconnect and simply socialise with their friends. This has been fantastic and the class continue to bond and strengthen their friendships. It has been super to see that many new friendships have developed throughout this time too. Another lovely observation was that rather than asking for screen-based technology, many of the children are choosing to play card games, such as Happy Families, Snap, Cheat and particularly Uno with their friends. So nice to see!

In Digital Literacy, we have looked at the features of iMovie and how greenscreen can work with it. It is still our plan to use this to create a short movie clip to demonstrate our knowledge of space but, as time seems to have got the better of us this week, I anticipate that we will do this at the very start of next term instead prior to moving on to Mary, Queen of Scots.

I hope that you all have a very relaxing and enjoyable break from learning and I look forward to seeing the class back again in a couple of weeks fully recharged and ready for term 4.

Mr. Morgan.
