Good Afternoon everybody.
The weeks seem to be flying in at the moment.
In Numeracy we have had a busy week working on our place value, numbers before and after and numbers in between.
Our Big Wriitng this week involved us writing a poem all about describing colours and then trying to get us all to guess which colour each child was describing.  The children then created a lovely border around their poem to help 'show off'' their poem.
We are all working on our spelling of common words in written tasks and I will be preparing some spelling homework for next week to reinforce our class spelling.
In Handwriting, we are looking at forming all of our letters correctly starting at the 'correct place.'
We used our research skills in Social Studies to look at how climate affects the clothes we wear and looked at some national costumes from around the world. The children have created some of these for our wall display.
We are continuing to do our drama activities and the children are building confidence acting out short scenes for the class.
Our Art this week is a globe of the world surrounded by finger painted children of all nations, all holding hands around the world.
We took part in a science experiment to answer a question posed by one of our class last week which was 'Can a paper boat sail?' I am sure they will be glad to share their results with you.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Miss Shearer
