Good afternoon

This week we embarked on a journey through numbers. On Monday we were introduced to our number learning journey; which consists of all the skills we will need to become good at learning all about the numbers 0-10, including recognising the numerals, counting forwards and backward, counting objects accurately and understanding what each number means by finding out all the different ways we can make numbers.
We have focused everyday this week on the skill of forming our numbers correctly and with the help of some clever rhymes and fun activities have learned how to form the numbers 0, 1 and 2. The number 2 however has proved to be a bit of a challenging number for some of us to write but we are all demonstrating perseverance and a give-it- a-go attitude as we continue to practice daily.

We have also enthusiastically continued our Daily Mile tour of the world and were thrilled to learn that we have now reach our second destination on our map, Italy. This is one of Miss Yorkston’s favourite countries to visit and after putting our technology curriculum into practice by using the search engine Google and appropriate keywords to explore this country a little more, we can tell why. Italy is such a fascinating country, full of amazing looking buildings and even more delicious food. We even had a go at learning some Italian and learned how to say hello ‘Buongiorno’ and goodbye ‘Arrivederci’.  However, what was most surprising to us was the country’s rather funny boot-like shape!

One final note… we have all had a great day supporting ‘Jeans for Genes Day’ today and very much enjoyed designing a pair of Jeans for a Paw Petrol character for the ‘Jeans for Genes Day' competition. Thank you for your support towards this fantastic cause.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
