Good afternoon everyone and welcome!

I can’t quite believe how quickly this first week of P1 has gone by. It was wonderful to see all the happy, smiling and enthusiastic faces greeting me as I welcomed the children into Canmore Primary on Wednesday and they all looked super smart lining up in their uniforms.

I must say I am very impressed by how well all the children are settling in to life at Camore. They have had a busy but fun first week, learning the new school and class routines exploring the classroom and meeting new friends. So much learning has already taken place during these times including sharing, following instructions, working together and using our imaginations.  I hope you have been able to share as a family the photographs taken of the first week on our Seesaw platform.

On Thursday we were super excited to meet two more staff members who will be working closely with us this year, Mrs Hay our P.E teacher and Mrs Baxter our Music teacher. We are looking forward to every Thursday, where we will get to learn and participate in some more fun games and songs.

On that note I would like to take this opportunity to say that this term's P.E days will be on a Thursday and a Friday. Please ensure that your child comes to school dressed in appropriate outdoor gym kits (dark coloured bottoms, a t-shirt with a warm top and a pair of trainers) on both these days as much of our P.E lessons will take place outside this term.

A highlight of this week though was a surprise visit of a new pupil to our class… our class teddy! He arrived on Friday and we have had lots of fun deciding on a new name for him and showing him around our classroom. We look forward to helping him settle into Canmore Primary school and helping him to learn new skills.

Have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing you all next week.
