Welcome to p5

I hope you enjoyed your extra hour in bed this weekend. It is hard to believe it is November this week, and that we are now into term 2 of primary 5. 
We had a very busy term last term. Our project on Edinburgh proved very popular. Learning about the ‘lovely’ details of the Edinburgh witch hunts and the story of Burke and Hare proved particularly popular. The children also loved the story of Greyfriars Bobby. Wealso enjoyed organising and running a very successful Jeans for Genes day, raising £302.70 for the charity. Thank you to all of you for your support in this.
This term our main topic will be My World of Work. We will be setting up our own Enterprise Company in preparation for the Christmas Fair, and learning more about the world of work. The children will be focussing particularly on their own interests and skills and matching these to possible careers and jobs through the My World of Work computer programme. A lot of our class work will focus on teamwork and cooperative group skills -  essential skills for the workplace.
