Welcome back to Primary 4.  Here you can catch up with all the exciting news from our class.

We had a very successful term culminating in a fantastic Christmas Fayre. Our company "Awfy Braw P4" was hugely successful and raised a lot of money.  The effort and application of the children were greatly rewarded. We explored Scottish Myths and Legends and the children were very enthusiastic and engaged.  Some wonderful 3-D models were made by some of the children and the standard of the homework was  high.  We mainly focused on instructional writing like posters, leaflets, recipes and invitations.  We read a fantastic Scottish book " The Boy and the Bunnet and used this for Drama and Literacy activities. In Maths we explored the properties of 3D shapes.  We also looked at multiplication and division strategies and Money.

This upcoming term, our learning will be focused around the Romans. We are performing a dance to Pompeii from Bastille.  We are all busy learning a Scottish poem to celebrate Burns Day.  We will take part in LitFilmFest where we will write poems about "Why I Play". The poet Michael Rosen has created lots of instructional clips on how to perform poems. It will help us to turn our poems  into performance poems.  We will record them using IMovies.  We hope to share these with our parents.
We will take part in the Music Festival and have been working hard on the three Disney songs with the help of Mrs Baxter. In Maths we will be looking at digital and analogue time and time delays.
All the children are working very hard on the social targets centered around respect, consideration for others and positive mindsets.  The classroom has been a calm environment and the children are all working very well making good progress.
