Welcome back P6!

I hope that everyone has had an enjoyable and relaxing break and that everyone is refreshed and ready to start Term 2.

Although it has been a short week, we have still packed lots in. We have been busy planning our mini, topic-linked, research project and enjoyed looking for interesting information on elements of Digital Literacy. We will be moving on to use SWAY as a way to present this information as an alternative to PowerPoint.

In Literacy we have started to look at similes and in Numeracy we have continued to work on setting out our work in a neat way. In Art, we have moved on to another popular artist and looked at some of the work of Andy Warhol. Our own versions in his style of work have truly reflected ‘Popular Culture’ with lots of pizza and Pokemon themed work being done.

Yesterday, science was great fun! Many of the children had got to the stage in their STEM Challenge to create a way to carry and protect farm produce. Several of the groups tried the dreaded ‘drop-test’ to see just how strong they had made their baskets. Most survived well – but not all! Some videos of the drop test are available in our class blog and in their Seesaw journal folders.

A quick reminder: please can those parents who have yet to return the consent form for Seesaw do so as soon as they can. When you have signed the form please go ahead and download the ‘Seesaw Families’ App from your app store and use the QR code provided yesterday to link your account to your child’s folder. When notification comes through to me of your linked account I will cross-check and provide final access. Thank you to those who have done this already and I hope you have enjoyed looking back over Term 1’s work in your child’s folder.

Have a great weekend.

Mr Morgan.
