Welcome back to our new school week. I hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend and made the most of the glorious weather.
As you will be aware yesterday was an INSET Day. All school staff engaged in professional learning activities to support building our recovery curriculum and ensuring an overall positive recovery transition for all members of our school community with safety and health and wellbeing being a priority.
I have received various communication from parents asking about a confirmed return date in August'20. At this time, it is hoped that across Scotland all schools will return week beginning 11th August'20. I appreciate many parents will be trying to make arrangements with work and for holidays- we will keep you updated with all key information as it is confirmed by Fife Council.
A highlight of June for many of our children and families is the Dunfermline Children's Gala Day and we are delighted to hear that a virtual event has been planned 'Gala-ing through Lockdown' on Saturday 27th June'20. Communication regarding this has been emailed out to you all. There is also a Facebook Page 'Dunfermline Children's Virtual Gala Day'- please give this page a follow.
We have now entered Joyful June as per Action for Happiness and attached is a calendar which you may wish to share with your child/children- lots of helpful ideas to promote positive health and wellbeing.
A new learner engagement planning cycle will be issued by class teachers today for the next two weeks.
Our social target 'I can look after myself and others' remains throughout this week. Please continue to let us know of the efforts being made by the children to achieve this.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week.
Best wishes,

Laura Howie
