Hello there,

What a jam packed week we have had in Primary 4/5. This week we have discovered lots of interesting facts about the rainforest. Using our KWL board as a guide, we watched a few videos and completed an activity around 'What is a rainforest". This involved learning lots of new vocabulary like climate, ecosystem and natural resources. As well as that we enjoyed looking at famouS paintings by Henri Rousseau on the rainforest and tried our own mixed media artwork on Thursday afternoon.

This week in writing, we used another picture prompt to inspire us and Miss Graham was very impressed at the creative ideas we all came up with. We have really been focusing on our use of capital letters this week and now understand when it is appropriate to use a capital letter for our writing.

In numeracy, we have continued with our class challenge and we are also loving the mental maths challenge of 'Around the World'. Primary 4/5 are becoming very quick at their number bonds recall and improving everyday! We have also been rounding and some pupils were even rounding into 6 digit numbers!

This week we also sent out our homework grid for the term, please note that our homework will be given on Seesaw and will not be given home in homework bags/pockets this term. It is also important to note that if you have any reading books that are still to be returned from last session, it would be brillant if they could be sent into school as soon as possible so that we have full sets for this session.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend,
Miss Graham
