This has been a really enjoyable week for all in Primary 3/4. Miss Graham has a huge smile on her face from all of the hard work and effort each and every pupil has demonstrated this week.

We started the week with our Sharing the Learning session and invited our adults into school for a super morning linked to our outdoor learning/STEAM and IDL focus. We worked together with our peers and adults to help the birds recreate their broken nest and construct a 3D model for a nest using the materials we collected during outdoor learning. We LOVED having you in our classroom to see us problem solve, work together and show off our respect, responsibility and resilient skills. We all had lots of fun and the pictures on Seesaw showcase our wonderful new nests.

On Wednesday, we were first to perform at the Vine Conference Center as part of the Fife Festival of Music. We performed three pieces and Cooper alongside Isla introduced our performance piece. We have been focusing on songs with a postive message, reflecting our school values and Miss Graham was SO SO PROUD of everyone and their beautiful performance. We all showcased our musical skills and we have to also thank Mrs Baxter for coming along to support us on Wednesday and in the lead up to this performance. What a fantastic morning! If you missed it, please check out our recording on Seesaw. You will definitiely have a smile on your face watching it!

In class we have continued to focus on subtraction. We have looked at the formal written method for this and the Primary 4 pupils have focused on exchanging and borrowing over 10s, 100s. We have used dienes to support our understanding and we are slowly gaining confidence in this. We have also started learning times tables and quickening our recall. Please see the new Homework grid on Seesaw for further consolidation.

In literacy, we looked at alliteration. Each pupil had fun creating sentences with alliteration and then we used our knowledge and understanding to apply this skill to our work. We continued to focus on poetic devices and used our music festival experience as a prompt.

We have had a jam packed week once again and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
