This week we enjoyed our first cricket lesson in the led up to the cricket festival; as the sunshine has reappeared it has been lovely to be outside more but please remember to pack a jacket as it still is windy!

We have been focusing on the digestive system in STEAM, learning about the journey of our food through our bodies. We have labelled the key parts of the body, and created a stop motion video to show this journey. The pupils worked well together in this collaborative task, joining their creative skills, writing skills and filming to create an informative piece.

We have been linking up our numeracy and gym lessons as we have covered time durations this week. This has allowed the pupils to take part in some stop watch timed tasks and become familiar timing and using this device. We have also looked at how to calculate the relationship between speed, distance and time. Ask me at home about this!

In writing, we have looked at a WAGOLL for response/reviews. This has been very interesting and looking at the facts/opinions mixed between a review. Looking at a local restaurant reviews was a fun and interesting way to look at how this type of writing is important today. Ask me about this as well! I might have a restaurant review for you!

We are looking for 2 litre empty bottles for our John Muir Explorer Award, please begin to collect and bring these in for us! We will also be hosting a coronation celebration next week on Friday. Please keep an eye on the school app/seesaw for further information. We are looking to host a wee garden party/picnic so 50p per child is requested so that we can buy food/drinks and share this together.

Thanks,
Miss Graham
