This week, we concluded our study in RME on special places with our trip to Dunfermline Mosque and St Leonard's Parish Church, Dunfermline. This helped us to increase our knowledge and understanding of different forms of worship and artefacts and can explain their importance for Christians and Muslims. The children really enjoyed getting to see inside the buildings and we would like to thank those in our local community linked to the Mosque and St Leonard's Parish Church for their input during the trip. Please check Seesaw for further information.

This week we have also been continuing our focus on Shape, this has allowed us to focus on the mathematical language linked to 2d and 3d shape. You will notice this has also taken our spelling focus. In numeracy we are gaining confidence talking about shape and using the language of learning.

The focus in grammar and writing this week has been on figurative language. We started the week identifying this in a WAGOLL and then using the success criteria that we constructed together in our own creative stories. Please ask me about this at home. We are now trying to redraft and edit our work as well and as assess our writing, we are beginning to identify our next steps. Miss Graham is very impressed with our progress.

Our week ended with Red Nose Day fun, a BIG thank you to Primary 5 and Mrs Heggie for organising this input for our whole school community.

It was also lovely to speak to many of you this past week during parent's evenings. I look forward to talking to the rest of our parents/carers on Monday evening.

Have a great weekend,
Miss Graham
