This week we have had a BIG focus on the Rainforest. Through our topic work, arts work, literacy and writing, the rainforest and the features of the four layers have been our inspiration.

Miss Graham was particularly impressed with the writing linked to the four layers, each individual choose an adjective challenge in our descriptive writing and this allowed us to come up with some fabulous imagery of walking through the rainforest. The children really worked hard at setting out their work in paragraphs as well and this was evident in their writing books.

In numeracy, we have focused on rounding numbers. Some pupils were rounding to the nearest 10,100 while some other pupils challenged themselves to rounding 10,100 and 1000 and even rounding within bigger numbers. Lots of hard effort and concentration from the pink group! Well done! Some children will require further practice on this and I would point out the Top Marks game to help consolidate this.

This week finished with an exciting Jeans for Genes celebration. We all enjoyed the reconnector led by Primary 5 and Mrs Haddow and we celebrated our jean designs as well.

Another busy week is over and I look forward to speaking to some parents next week and telling you more of all the wonderful work we have done in P4/5.
