What another busy week in Primary 4/5.
I started the week speaking to some more parents and what can I say..it was such a delight to let you have a little glimspe into our classroom and what we have planned for this term.

In numeracy this week we have continued looking at fractions, specifically focusing on a fraction of a whole. Some pupils' took up the challenge and even looked at mixed numbers and improper fractions-lots of hard work and effort indeed!

A BIG focus this week has been our reading and book reviews. As part of our author study we have been reading through the How to Train Your Dragon series. The children are loving reading these books and with adventure, dragons and pirates, our imaginations have roomed wild. This week we used our knowledge of fiction/non fiction books and a successful book review to create our own book review on our favourite book/author. The class were able to talk confidently using great detail about the book of their choose and record their book review for you to hear on Seesaw. We are hoping to turn our book reviews into QR codes to display in the library so that we can share our love of reading with the whole school community! It has been really interesting sharing different authors/books with one another!

Another exciting part of our week was our Roman topic, this week we have started thinking about our collaborative project 'Horrible Histories-Primary 4/5 Style'. The children are now in groups and have completed some research into their Roman area of study. We look forward to using this information in the upcoming weeks for our writing, drama and art activities.

And last but not least-we enjoyed a very muddy time in the school garden as part of our John Muir Challenge Award. Primary 4/5 are loving their field Fridays!
