This week we had the opportunity to hear from the NSPCC on keeping safe and speaking up. The children listened really well to our visitors as we engaged in an upper school assembly regarding this. In health and wellbeing we have started to look at the UN convention on the rights of the child and this assembly connected to our work on this. The class enjoyed taking part in a debate during drama surrounding needs and wants with all children trying their best to justify their responses/opinions.

In numeracy, we have completed an assessment on telling the time and although this formal input during numeracy sessions is over, it would be fantastic if you could continue to support your child in telling the time at home. We have moved onto looking at multiplication and division. Miss Graham was super impressed with the understanding shown around the strategy of using an array and we have learnt a special commutative property! Ask me at home what this is.

On Tuesday we also found out that our new topic for this term will be Titanic. The children have received a new homework letter linked to this. If you have any queries or questions regarding this please do not hesitate to contact the school/Miss Graham. This new numeracy booklet for homework is completed in school time and at home therefore it is essential that all booklets as well as reading books are returned each Monday so that the children do not miss out on their learning in class.

Again a huge thank you for your support in beginning our online Seesaw journals. We are learning to improve our photography and video skills when capturing evidence of our learning with an aim to improve our overall quality of our photos.

Have a great weekend,
Miss Graham
