Crafty Christmas have been hard at work in preparation for our upcoming Christmas Fair. Lots of creative skills have been used as we have prepared posters, banners, signs. Our attention to detail was tested as we made your high quality Christmas gifts!
In literacy, we have used the Christmas Fair as a focus for our final letter writing piece and you will hopefully receive your personal letter of invitation to the Fair over the next few days/beginning of next week. The children have really impressed Miss Graham with their letter writing over this session and we are now confident individuals who can invite, inform, complain and apply using letter writing skills.
In numeracy we have finished off our addition strategies by looking at the bar model strategy. Some children found this tricky to begin with however we soon got the hang of it and we can now make the connection between addition and subtraction. Our halving skills have also been improving in mental maths and our class champions for this week are Emily and Euan.
Last but not least, the pupils enjoyed a very informative visit from the Scottish SSPCA and you can check our blog for the robot fun enjoyed.
