A real highlight of this week was our trip on Tuesday morning. We joined the Primary 4 class on the bus and headed away sharply from school after the bell. As we have just finished our topic on Dunfermline, it was fabulous to see some of the sights as we went along in the bus to 'Andrew Carnegie' museum. We started in the museum with a talk about Dunfermline then and now and this let us look at old maps and new maps. We then went into the older part of the museum, this allowed us to see where Andrew Carnegie was born and learn some new facts about him. Ask me about the rabbits!

After a snack we then proceeded up the hill, past the Glen and the Abbey gates (two other features of our Dunfermline topic) to the library. This is the first library Andrew Carnegie built for the people and the children enjoyed being in the old and new parts of the library. The children completed some tasks linked to this and loved the puppets that were on display-ask me who the puppets were!

As you can see we had a very busy start of the week, this allowed us to write a recount, illustrate our favourite part of the trip and reflect on the topic of Dunfermline as we ended this week.

Next week we will focus more on our topic of Chocolate. Please do remember to send in any brown wool as well next week.

Many thanks,
Miss Graham
