Hello all,
What another fun filled fast week! We have enjoyed lots of creative fun in class this week, beginning with some spooky house paintings and pastel drawings on Monday and Tuesday. We then used these wonderful art pieces to set the scene for our descriptive setting work in writing. Lots of pupils tried really hard to think of appropriate adjectives to select to make their work spooky and scary. Others tried really hard to include some similes as we were looking at using similes for comparing and adding to our descriptions. Some of the P4 pupils even completed simile poems as well!

In Numeracy, our money skills expanded this week as we thought about making amounts using both pounds and pence. The P3 pupils mostly worked with coins however some P3's alongside the P4's used notes and coins in calculating the amount. Further practice at home will ensure confidence in this skill. We have also gained lots of practice handling and counting out amounts with different games and boardgames using real money. We even found a 50p with Paddington bear (to the delight of the class).

As we have noted in the communication home last week, we will be going on our school trip on Tuesday morning. Thank you to all who have paid and also volunteered to come. If I haven't contacted you directly then you will not be needed for support on the trip but I am grateful for your kind offers. We look forward to finishing off our project of Dunfermline with this trip so that we can get stuck into our Chocolate project which is already making us lick our lips as we read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!

As always have a great weekend,
Miss Graham
