Happy New Year from P7b! We hope you had a fantastic time over the Christmas break. We are looking forward to all the things to come in term 3.
Term 2 was a very busy and exciting term. P7b did fantastically at the Christmas Fayre, selling out all their products. Slime seemed to be a particular hit; sorry about that... We also had a great Christmas party which was P7s last one at Canmore!
Term 3 is looking like another busy and exciting term. We have lots of things to look forward to including Burns' day, the Scottish Country Dancing Festival, high school transition days, WW2 day by Homefront Histories, the start of our yearbook committee and starting to think about our P7 show.
Our social studies topic this term is WW2. We will be looking at lots of different areas including the outbreak of the war, evacuation, rationing, jobs, transport, weaponry and key events.
In literacy, a lot of our work will link to our topic – WW2. We will be reading Boy in the Striped Pyjamas as our class novel and will be doing some writing based on this. We will also be looking at poetry for Burns' Day.
In numeracy, we will be focusing on percentages, fractions and decimals for the first part of the term.
