Good afternoon,

In Literacy this week our story was ‘A very Noisy Christmas’ by Tim Thornborough and Illustrated by Jennifer Davison.  This week we have continued to learn how to sequence. We read the book and discussed the beginning, the middle and the end of the story. We then drew a picture and wrote a sentence for each part of the story. This learning was linked to Religious and Moral Education as we discussed that this is a story from the Christian religion and that they believe that the baby born at Christmas is the son of God.

In Phonics, we consolidated our learning of our phonic sounds this term by playing a variety of phonics games.  Reading books came home this week along with a new phonic booklet. This phonic booklet will be for our homework next term. Please do not complete until directed on seesaw. Please return reading book by Monday.

In Numeracy, we have been learning about symmetry. We looked at a variety of objects and decided if they were symmetrical or not symmetrical. We also completed pictures to make them symmetrical.
The highlight this week was our Christmas party, we very much enjoyed dancing the Prince of Orange ceilidh dance, playing party games, and having our party food.
This week we have been listening to each child share the information they have learned about their chosen country. I was very impressed by all the hard work the children had put into their homework. The children have presented the information out their chosen country extremely well. They have all tried very hard to give eye contact, speak with pace and use a loud volume so everyone can hear. Well done P2!
We have been busy making our Christmas Calendars and Christmas Cards and look forward to sharing our creations with you as we bring them home today.
Have a great weekend!
