Good afternoon,

In Literacy this week our story was ‘One snowy night' by Nick Butterworth. This week we have continued to learn how to sequence. We read the book and discussed the beginning, the middle and the end of the story. We then drew a picture and wrote a sentence for each part of the story.

In Phonics, we have been learning to read and write the ‘ck’ sound. We also continued learning to spell some of our common words by making the words with Lego and practised writing them.
On Seesaw you will find a homework activity for the ‘ck’ sound. Please complete the 'ck’ page this week in your phonics homework booklet. Reading books went home on Wednesday, please return on Monday. This week your child is to pull together the information about their chosen country and make a poster or prepare a talk. I look forward to seeing and hearing from the children next week when they present the information they are learned about their chosen country to the class.

In Numeracy, we have been learning to find a coordinate on a grid by going along the corridor and then up the stairs. We have also been learning to plot a coordinate as well as write the coordinates remembering our comma, for example (B,3). A great game to practise this skill is Battle Ships. The children’s favourite part of this week was working with a partner to look at a map of the world and find the coordinates for some of the countries.

The highlight this week was finish our Christmas craft for sale. We have made snowman puppets. We have spent time learning to sew and then decorate our puppet. You will see our adverts on Seesaw. They are now on sale for a £2.00.
It was lovely to see everyone in their Christmas jumpers today,
Have a great weekend!
