Good afternoon,

The highlight this week was Tommy Traveller (our Teddy visitor) asking us to learn all about Canada. We discussed different food, clothing and weather/climate. We also had a taste of maple syrup on pancakes. We made posters about Canada to share what we have learned with Tommy.

In Literacy, our Flat Stanley Novel this week is 'Flat Stanley the Epic Canadian Expedition’ by Jeff Brown. This week we have been continuing our learning on prediction, Arthur and Stanley are skiing. As they ski down the hill, Arthur speeds up and Stanley sees Arthur head towards the daredevil Skiers and shouts 'No!' to Arthur. We predicted what Stanley saw and what would happen to Arthur.

In Phonics, we have been learning to read and write the 'll’ sound. We also have been learning to spell some of our common words by using Lego to make the word and then practise writing the word.
On Seesaw you will find a homework activity for the ‘ll' sound. Please complete the 'll’ page this week in your phonics homework booklet. Reading books went home on Wednesday, please return on Monday. This week for the topic homework, your child is to continue to work on their presentation of their chosen country. This week your child is to research food and clothing.

In Numeracy, we continued our learning on addition. we have been learning all the addition facts for 20 and learning to add 3 numbers.  We have been using Numicon to help us.

The children are very much enjoying the Outdoor Learning, last Friday we explored the trees, made tree rubbings and explored the Autumn leaves.
In Art, we decorated Angel wings for a school project that St Leonards Church is running. The whole school are decorating Angel wings and these will be displayed in the Kingsgate centre from the 11th Dec.

Have a great weekend!
