Good afternoon,

In Social Studies we have been looking at needs and wants. We discussed that humans need food, water, clean air, clothes, medical care, shelter and education. However, we want lots of things like sweets, tablet computers, video games and phones etc.

In Numeracy, we continued our learning on recognising, reading, writing, sequencing and ordering numbers. We have also been learning to find smaller, smallest, larger, and largest numbers.

In Literacy we have continued our learning on giving our opinion. We read the book ‘Be Kind’ by Pat Zietlow Miller and then discussed our favourite part.  Most of us liked the part when the girl was kind and gave her a picture to make her classmate feel better.

In Phonics we learned the ‘ph’ sound. We read a story about an elephant and discussed different words that have the ‘ph’ sound. Some of the words we came up with were, phone, trophy, photo, Sophie, graph, and photosynthesis!

Thank you for all the reading books that were returned on time, please return your current reading book on Monday. It has been lovely to see the ‘ph’ homework that has been completed by some of the children. I will set phonics homework every Wednesday to go along with learning in school.

Several lunch choices are not being completed at home, can I please remind you to visit I-pay impact and make your child’s lunch choices, even if your child is bringing a parked lunch from home. Thank you.

Thank you for your continued support,
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Elvin
