Good afternoon,

In Phonics we have been learning the phonic sound 'nk'. We took part in a variety of activites to read and spell 'nk' words.

In Literacy we finished reading our novel the sheep-pig and were all very excited that Babe won the sheep-dog trials. We wrote letters to congratulate Mr Hogget and Babe on winning. We really enjoyed watching the movie Babe and comparing the similarities and differences between the movie and book.

In Numeracy we have been learning about money. We read the story 'Shopping Basket' and then discussed different ways we pay for items when we go shopping including coins, notes, debit/credit cards, gift cards and vouchers. We consolidated our knowledge of the coins from P1 by playing money bingo and by matching coins to prices. We learned to count groups of coins to idenfity how much money and we drew coins to make an amount of money.

In Health and Wellbeing, we have been learning to balance and roll. We took part in a variety of activities were we balanced beanbags and balanced and rolled quoits, rolled hoops and  balanced a tennis ball on a bat as we moved between cones.

We all enjoyed our last outdoor learning session. We worked with a partner to solve clues based on the story "going on a bear hunt' by Micheal Rosen.

We were all very excited to take part in our virtual 'meet the teacher' session and are looking forward to working with our new teachers in P3.

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Elvin
