Good afternoon,
What a lovely last week of term 3!
It has been wonderful to be back in school with all the children.
On Wednesday for our House Day, 2 members of the Junior Leadership Team (JLT) came to class and worked with us to design pictures to make a collage for each of the houses.  The children all enjoyed creating their picture and we are looking forward to seeing all the house collages once they are mounted on the wall.
This week for Literacy, we have been learning the phonic sound 'er' and have been learning to read and spell words with the 'er' sound. We have been practising spelling our common words including words with the 'er' sound.
We have been enjoying our class novel 'Owl who is afraid of the dark' by Jill Tomlinson and  have been learning to identify if statements about the book are true or false.
In Numeracy, we have been continuing to develop our adding skills. We have been finding all the addition facts for 16,17,18, 19 and 20.
You may have heard from your child that we have welcomed a new pupil i to our class from Brazil. It's lovely to see all the children being so friendly and welcoming. We have been learning some Portuguese to help make our new pupil feel welcome.
We listened to the Easter story in both English and Portuguese and learned about why this is an important festival for Christians. We made small Easter baskets with a treat inside. We have also made Easter cards and wrote our own message inside,
Well done to our social Target Achiever Logan Thornton-Smith, It was really hard to choose as the children have all shown such a positive mindset towards their learning this term.

Have a wonderful family holiday,
I look forward to seeing you all in Term 4.
