This week we were very excited as another letter arrived from Katie Morag asking for our help to learn about timelines and to make a timeline of our life. Katie Morag also sent us the story 'Katie Morag and the Two Grandmothers'. We are looking forward to our next letter.
In Literacy, we listened to the story 'Katie Morag and the Two Grandmothers' and gave our opinion about our favourite part of the story.
This week we have also been learning about Guy Fawkes and why we set off fireworks on the 5th of November. We made firework pictures and created a fireworks poem using our senses.
In Numeracy, we have been learning how to find a number on a hundred square, we have been using the strategy of finding the ones and then finding the tens. So for example to find the number 46 we go across the hundres square to find the 6 ones and then down the hundred square to find the 4 tens, then we have found the number 46.
In Phonics this week, we have been learning the 'ay' sound. Please complete your 'ay' homework sheet. We have also been practising our common words in class. Remember for homework to practise reading and writing 5 of your common words from your homework pack.
This weeks social target was 'I can make safe and sensible choices', again it has been very difficult to choose just one child as all of Primary Two have been making sensible choices. Well done to our social target winner, Eva Lees.
I wish you all a lovely weekend,
