Primary Four weekly update

We have had a wonderful first week back and have worked very hard.
In numeracy we have been consolidating our timestable knowledge and have impressed Mrs Spencer with our addition skills and number recall.
We have had lots of whole class and group discussion reflecting on 2019 and thinking about how exciting 2020 will be for us all.
Our topic this term is going to be exploring 'The Romans' which we are delighted about.
Reading books have gone home this week- we hope you enjoy reading together at home.
Scots poetry has also been issued and we ask that parents support the learning of these focusing upon interjecting volume, expression, pace and perhaps a little action to tell the story of the poem. Our three finalists will be selected on Thursday 24th January with the overall poetry champion being announced at our Burns assembly on 25th January. Burns lunch will also be enjoyed on this day.
Well done to Molly who was awarded a social target award at assembly today 'for starting our new term with a positive growth mindset.'
