For maths we have been using our division strategies to answer calculations and we made posters to explain our division strategies.  We have also been developing times tables knowledge by reciting our times tables and playing games. We also started learning about data handling. Yesterday we looked at different ways you can display data. The children carried out a questionnaire about Baby Forrest II and put the data into bar graphs.

We have been learning about comics, we read a factual comic and identified the features of a comic. We used the website https://makebeliefscomix.com to develop our knowledge of the features of a comic and make our own digital comic. We then looked at an example of a comic that explained the digestion system and then started making comics about the body. We choose an organ like the heart or lungs or brain and create our own character. Then made a story for our character. We will be finishing our comics next week.

This week we have been learning how fungi and earth worms live off fallen rotten autumn leaves.  We looked at mushrooms and create our own observational drawings. For outdoor learning we explored the field and found fungi growing on or near to the trees and tree stumps. We were able to use the fungi ID spotter sheet to identify the different fungi.

We have been looking at road safety over the past few weeks. We identified a major hazard near our school – a safety barrier has been removed on Aberdour Road, at the bottom of a hill and has not been replaced by Fife Council (photo attached to post). The children have been raising awareness of this error by Fife Council by making posters and getting a photograph where the barrier should be. We will be forwarding these photos onto Fife Council and be asking for this safety barrier to be replaced as soon as possible. We will keep you up to date with our progress.

Thank you for your support,
