And here we are at the end of May already!

A lot of effort was put into our Biology project on Plant Detectives this week. We looked at parts of a tree and looked at a video discussing different types of leaves.  It was very interesting with lots of new terminology to learn.  We then used the  Plantsnap app to identify the names of different leaves.  We all struggled trying to pronounce the fancy botanical names of all the different leaves but really enjoyed this activity.

We spent a lot of time creating a word art picture using the names of our new Primary 1 buddies.  We then wrote a special letter telling them all about us and our fantastic school Canmore Primary. We cannot wait to meet our buddies.

The rehearsals for the Jerusalema dance is going very well. Everyone knows the moves and the instrumentalists are doing a fantastic job playing along to the very uplifting music. The music is very infectious and everyone is having a super time.  We spent some time in class putting string around our white T-shits so that they are ready to be tie dyed.

We continue to work hard on our personal projects on Mary, Queen of Scotts. Everyone is researching different aspects of Tudor Scotland or of the life of Mary. Lots of creativity and super ICT skills are being shown by everyone.

In maths we did a mathematical terminology activity using a brain template.  We are most impressed with all the knowledge shown by everyone.

There was lots of fantastic listening skills shown when Mrs Dowell did a brass assessment with us in the school hall. We also learnt about different brass instruments like the trumpet, trombone, french horn and tuba.

A quick reminder to let all parents know that we will start the Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood (RSHP) part of the Health and Well-Being curriculum.  A PowerPoint was recently emailed out you from Mrs Howie that contains guidance of the areas we will be covering.

Congratulations to Katie Lyall for being selected as Social Target of the Week winner.

We hope everyone has a wonderful sunny weekend!
