It has been a really short week but lots of new learning has taken place in
Primary 6!
In number work we are revisting division, specifically different methods of dividing.  We looked at short division and long division using the bus stop method.  Lots of practicing has taken place and we also tried these methods using bigger numbers. We have been very impressed with everyone's "can do" atttitude.
We have started looking at the French language as part of our Mary Queen of Scots topic.  It is really tricky to pronounce the words correctly but we are eager to learn lots of new french words and phrases together.
A highlight this week has been to start with a Biology topic on plants. We looked at the parts of a plant and a flower and drew labelled diagrams.  We also learnt about a fascinating process in plants called Photosynthesis. We had an excellent discussion on the impact of different gasses on the environment and what we can do to help. We have used Ipads to take pictures of some of the spring flowers in the playground. Next week we will dissect some flowers so we can inspect all the different parts of a flower.
Our bug hotels are now safely situated in our school garden and we look forward to seeing which critters have moved into their new homes.
Congratulations to Milosz Kowalski for being selected our Social Target of the Week winner.
Mrs Howie has also nominated P6 as class of the week- well done everyone!

Have a fantastic weekend!
