Primary 6 continue to work very well and are enjoying being back together again! Lots of hard work has been completed this week.

In Literacy we have looked at using powerful adjectives in a sentence to add more impact. Everyone is working hard on improving their presentation skills in their jotters. Our class novel is ‘Wonder" by R J Palacio. It is a wonderful book which links in perfectly with our work in Health and Well-Being, specifically being kind to others and to yourself. We have started to create a character profile of the main character, August.

In Numeracy, we have looked at Rounding to 10, 100 and 1000 and Place Value work specifically finding value of digits in a bigger number and partitioning. All children have completed an assessment and it will help to identify areas we need to focus on.

As part of Digital Literacy we have started looking at different ways to create a word document. This will come in very handy with our personal project on "Oceans of the World". We have looked at opening and saving documents, cutting and pasting, manipulation of images, word art and changing fonts, styles and colours. Lots of experimentation was carried out.

Our PE days is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please ensure that your child comes prepared for outdoor activities on those days. An extra pair of socks/shoes and a rainproof jacket is essential.

In Art Primary 6 is busy creating fantastic "Kraken"Sea Monsters. They are truly amazing and everyone has enjoyed using the wonderful medium of Watercolour paint.

Lastly,  I include some information about the school Tech Team. An activity has been sent out via Seesaw for any members of the class who wish to submit a note of interest in joining the team. Anyone interested in becoming a new junior member of the team should complete the activity on Seesaw and send it back to me.

I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend.
