The photographer's visit went extremely well on Tuesday and everyone looked very smart in their uniforms( a few holiday haircuts on show too )

In Literacy, as part of our topic,  we wrote a formal letter applying to the Knights Training Association. We had to set the letter out correctly and include reasons as to why we thought we'd make a good knight. We also wrote about Robert the Bruce and the spider as our handwriting lesson this week. Our reading groups are working hard to get through our books and we are at a cliffhanger point in our class novel The Goldfish Boy.

In Numeracy we are revisiting number work, focusing on division. We have been writing out number stories for multiplication and division and calculating division of 3/4/5 digit numbers by a 1 digit number.

Our topic projects are coming on nicely with everyone is working hard on researching and displaying all our facts and information. For Art we made a sliding knights jousting strip which was great fun and required a good level of concentration and design skills.

For Outdoor Learning we made fatball bird feeders which were pretty messy but looked good. Hopefully they will support the new fledglings in our area at this time of year. Some children also helped with litter picking a round the field too.

On Friday we celebrated the coronation in school. After the themed Reconnector we completed various 'royal' activites and played lawn games with P6 in our gym time. In the afternoon we continued the celebrations with a garden party with games, juice and snacks.

Don't forget the holiday Monday. Enjoy another long weekend. See you all on Tuesday again.
