Primary 5b have been doing all things Scottish this week. The start of the week commenced with poetry recitals. Everyone made an effort to contribute which was fabulous. Well done to our 3 finalists Hayley, Holly and Laima who are being given the opportunity to recite the poem " Cuddling Doon " by Alexander Anderson at our Reconnector. We had a Scottish afternoon on Wednesday in the P4-5 area where the children got to try shortbread and Irn Bru and danced to some traditional tunes.

In Literacy we learned some Scottish words and for Personal Writing we wrote a diary entry using Scots language. They were all braw !!

We consolidated our fractions work in Numeracy, playing a variety of games : fractions dominoes, equivalent fractions matching, "I have... Who has..? " loop cards, simplifying fractions and board games.

For Art we studied the work of Charles Rennie Macintosh and made our own rose and thistle pictures.

Have a lovely weekend. Please keep practising our Music Festival songs for Thursday.
